Gabe: We had some technical difficulties this week and the result was that a couple of our shows ended up being late. I apologize for the mess up. Here’s the new episode of Gabeart that should have gone up yesterday. And here’s the latest episode of Strip Search that should have gone up earlier this morning. Sorry about that. -Gabe out

Tycho: “Too Damn Late,” like Strips Which Include Div, is a specifically Gabriel form. I relent when we are exposed to a glut of news which might individually make for thin gruel, but leveraged in this context are appropriate. The cadence is also fun to model. Anyway, the stars were right. Electronic Arts has dicussed the wealf they’d stacked as a result of Online Passes, part of Project Ten Dollar, which was itself a kind of retail counterinsurgency. With the advent of new consoles, cost conscious players will almost certainly stay or adopt the existing…

Gabe: The Child’s Play invitational golf tournament is coming up next Monday and we have cooked up a sort of home game. You can hit up the Child’s Play site and place a little side bet on your favorite Penny Arcader. All the money we raise will go directly to Child’s Play. The winning team will get bragging rights and all of their supporters will be listed on the Penny Arcade site. So hit the CP site for all the details and place a bet on your favorite PA golfer. Oh and it’s true that I did have Lasik yesterday but I’m healing really well and I don’t think it will effect my golf game.…

Ben Kuchera: Ben's note: This is post from Vlambeer's Rami Ismail is an interesting look at what happens when indie devs have a relationship with the platform holders that sell their games, and how having something to lose makes it harder to help out other developers. Back in the early days of our medium, games were made by enthusiasts and small groups of people with the technical expertise required to program complex machinery. Over time, the medium started expanding its reach and these small groups of enthusiasts organized into small companies. Gaming went through its arcade and shareware…

They don’t seem like it. I wouldn’t have done the things this other person did. Well, except for hooking up after a D&D session. That’s still on the table, which is a double entendre obviously. Occasionally I can muster sympathy for that folded-in creature, and say that he did those things because the options available were constrained. It’s a fairly common mechanism for deceiving oneself. The reality is that I had a dilapidated framework…

Gabe: Another elimination episode and this one is pretty crazy. ***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** ***SPOILERS*** There’s a lot of discussion about how heated the banter got in this one. Everybody reacts to the stress of the elimination stage differently and it was pretty clear that Monica wasn’t going to take any of my shit. I’m no stranger to snark as a defense mechanism (hell, I built a career off of it) so it honestly didn’t bother me at all. Both artists turned in great comic strips and in the end we just had to go with our gut. -Gabe out
