A fantastic history of the horror game genre, and why its future is on PC
It's always wonderful to read in-depth history pieces on gaming when they're written by people who really know their stuff. It just goes to show you how little most of us actually know about the precise history of video gaming.
There's a ton of great information in this piece, and I learned a great deal. That said, the most interesting part of the piece may have been in the conclusion where it discusses where horror will go from here.
Consoles have lost their foothold as the platform for horror games, and the PC is taking over. The future of the horror genre may be with small indie studios who don't have to worry about selling 10 million copies.
