How a social game destroyed morale at Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick
It's fun to read about games that were explored, but then abandoned. This is an even more interesting case of a game that was developed, tested internally, and then left to rot because the rules turned those who played it into jerks. Or at least they bruised the feelings of those who were on the losing end of the game.
The rules were simple, but it's easy to see how something like this could hurt relationships inside a developer. It's amusing how seriously we can take even simple games, to the point that real world relationships can be impacted.
