The wave of news and opinion regarding Microsoft's finally-public stance on game licensing and re-selling has been focused on the rights of consumers and how this will affect publishers and big box retailers. But there's one group of people the discussion has left out in the cold: independent game retailers.

How are they feeling about the new policies? MCVUK contacted a number of store owners in the United Kingdom to find out, and the result is an interesting look at the industry from a unique perspective.

The best part about this particular piece is that the retailers seem to be coming at this issue from multiple angles. Some are worried about the changes while other speculate that it could be a good thing.

If nothing else, it encourages everybody to take a bit wider view of the video game business, rather than judging things based on the "average gamer" or publishers in general. The games business has many faces, and they all need to be taken into account.
