The Beast is back: watch Daigo Umehara obliterate reigning Super Street Fighter IV champion at PAX
Daigo Umehara hasn't been his old, dominating self lately. He's still an incredibly good player, but he's been having a bit of trouble with the top players like Sun Woo "Infiltration" Lee. Kun "Xian" Ho, on the other hand, is on top of the world. He's the reigning champion of Super Street Fighter IV at EVO 2013.
So a lot of people were very curious about what would happen when these two collided in a show match at PAX Prime courtesy of Mad Catz, the main sponsor of both players. The old legend versus the new hotness. Who would come out on top?
The old legend. By a mile. In entertaining fashion. Xian is an incredible player, and Daigo took him to the cleaners, winning their 10 game series ... 10 to 0.
What's more, Xian actually looks pretty decent in these fights. It's not like he showed up drunk and passed out on his joystick. He put up a great fight, and Daigo just took him apart. The story of this match isn't Xian losing, it's the resurrection of Daigo as The Beast.
