Worse than quick-time events: Ryse is the game that plays itself
Andrew wasn't a fan of what he saw of Ryse at E3, and neither was I during the Microsoft press conference, but this story that basically says that the game plays itself to avoid player frustration takes the whole insanity up to another level.
I'm not sure what else to say about this. I want to play my games. I want to lose, and I want the game to clearly communicate to me why I lost, so I can get better and improve. That rush you feel when you finally figure out a tricky section of the game? You can't enjoy that unless there is at least a minimal struggle before the inevitable victory.
