Yet another superbly written article about why Portal is so amazing
It can often seem that we know that we love certain games, but it can be oddly difficult to nail down exactly why some games rise above the rest. This is a very well argued article about why Portal is such a defining moment of this generation, and it's likely you're going to want to replay the game after reading.
The fact that there is no gun that fires bullets even given to the player, and the mechanic of having to turn aggression back on the enemies instead of responding in kind is something that defines the game, but it's odd that so few other games have tried to replicate the same type of experience.
At any rate, the fact that Portal is amazing isn't news, but this is a pretty insightful piece. Enjoy!
