Your breasts do not need shaped armor, and in fact breast-shaped chest plates may kill you
Males buy a lot of video games, males like looking at breasts, female characters in games need armor, so therefore we need to make that armor look like breasts. This simple equation has done much to control how female characters are designed in video games, as well as fantasy and science fiction visuals. We just gotta see those boobs.
Still, wearing armor shaped for breasts is a bad move, for the reasons listed in the above story. What's even sillier is the armor where sections of the chest are left unprotected in order to show some cleavage. Sure, it leaves the vital organs exposed, but BREASTS.
One of the source articles also brings up an interesting point: Some women like wearing fitted breast plates because it makes them feel fierce and sexy, which is a valid point. Still, the gentleman who designed one such arrangement worries the wearer will fall and the point between the breasts will be driven into her sternum. That... does not sound pleasant.
Another article that is linked in the above Cut goes into a bit more detail, along with images of what feminine armor can look like while still being functional. We may be talking about breasts, but the underlying principles of matching a female character to her armor, something that is common with male characters, is fascinating. The design and fit of armor should say much about the person who is wearing it, and in some ways prominent breasts can take away from that character, while also being impractical.
Unless you want your breasts to be a part of your profile when fighting. In which case the trade off might be worth it. Just don't fall down.
