I sorta thought the fight was going to be somewhere between PGA Tour 2K23 and EA's Incredibly Long Name Game, but it's not - it's between PGA Tour 2K21 and nothing. I literally returned 2K23. Golf is a very simple game, actually, so when it comes to making it "gamey" it's really just a matter of how you want to ruin it. PGA Tour 2K21 ruined it the least, and because it had an industry leading course creator and attracted community talent that rivals the included courses, you don't have to buy anything from either vendor ever again.
When they "sunset" the old one, I'm just going to stop playing video golf. This RPG crap was old back when EA stopped making golf games, and I said so at the time. I'm not gonna climb up this thing's ass to level up a bunch of fucking shit they're gonna annihilate the next time they want to make an annual game. As previously suggested: this is like an MMO where they kill your character every year. You'd have to be crazy to do it. Thing is, I am crazy - just not in the way they need me to be to square the circle of their predatory junk.
Well, well! After an insane weekend, it would appear that the Kickstarter funded in such a way as to demand a novella about Omin and Jim meeting as teenagers. Well, you win.
I will be honest with you when I say that I thought for certain I was gonna get out from under this novella obligation. I've had many people say that they are waiting for my novel, and I never really understood what they meant - I did write a novel, it's called Acquisitions Incorporated: The "C" Team. I guess they mean a lot of words all in one place. Well, they paid for it, and for good or ill now they're gonna get it. And what's more, because I know how hardcore the shippers came through for us at the end, I'm going to make a second version of the novel - one that fully, thoroughly honors the ship these wicked perverts call "dranmagic." Any backer that would have gotten the book will also get a second book that has way, way more kissing.
(CW)TB out.
