When you get these kinds of notices, about how your web no gonna worky, it reminds me of a couple specific things.
First, it reminds me of when my uncle showed me a couple web pages and I didn't really know what I was looking at. The only comparison I could really think of was that it was like a very large BBS, or a series of interconnected services, like CompuServe, Quantum Link which would eventually become America Online - Earth's foremost coaster manufacturer. It looked incredibly boring. He assured me that it was going to be a very big deal, and you know what? He may have been right. But the page he showed me about tractors was not to my particular interest.
Second, it reminded me about when the world ended and yet somehow kept going, and in addition to everything else I'm required to do I also had to learn how to do the Trigonometry I never quite understood in school so I could teach it to my child. We had to use the Internet to work and learn inside of a digital facsimile of the world. This is how I learned that I don't process people's faces correctly when they're on a screen. For a long time I really thought I was going insane.
People didn't want to put their credit cards "into the computer" when this shit all started, and last Tuesday my friend Jasmine Bhullar DoorDashed some Starbucks to our livestream. I grew up with computers and this shit is still crazy.
Our poor Dabriel is under the weather, and so it falls to me to light the signal fires and maintain the #Fridabe tradition. Gonna start with some Wildfrost , a game I saw at the Chucklefish booth at PAX East, amd see where it goes from there. I'll be starting that as soon as this post is live. So, like… now.
(CW)TB out.
