I have some bad news for those of you hoping to get your hands on our new book “Epic Legends of the Magic Sword Kings” this weekend at Comic Con. We found out late this afternoon that the books would not be making it to the convention. This is the last uppercut in a “killer combo” that started Wednesday when we arrived at the show.
We were originally told by Dark Horse that they would be bringing the new book with them and we could get it from their booth on the first day of the show. When we went looking for them we were told that the books had been sent to Seattle and so they would be a couple days late. I’m not a professional book shipper but if I had a choice between two ports on the west coast, I might have chosen LA over Seattle given their final destination was San Diego.
We were told that the books would move through customs faster in Seattle and we could see them as early as Friday and Saturday at the latest. We believed this was true and so this is what we’ve been telling everyone that came by the booth looking for a copy of the book. We received word today from Dark Horse that the books had still not cleared customs and would not be making it in time for the show. I’m not exactly sure what it is about our comics that has casued them to be detained. I have visions of our book strapped into a chair, a single bare light bulb swinging above a large man barking questions at the paper back collection of cartoons. “how many of you are there?” “Why are you here!” “Who are you working with!?" My guess is the books aren’t talking.
At any rate I apologize for the mess up. I really do wish we had the book for you this weekend. The good news is that it should be showing up in your local book stores any day now. Also we will have another fifty Laser Cels for sale tomorrow.
