So it turns out some of the folks over at Bungie were fans of the Destiny Fan Fiction comic I did a while back. They reached out a few months ago and asked if Tycho and I would like to work with them on something. This was just before House of Wolves was scheduled to drop and I thought maybe they wanted some comics focusing on the expansion. That wasn’t the case though. What they showed us when we visited their studio was the Taken King. They let us play with the three new subclasses and then asked us if we wanted to create a comic (similar to the fan fiction piece) about each one.
As I am sure you can imagine, that sounded pretty rad to us.
It’s no secret I love Destiny. The chance to do a series of official comics set in that world was just too good to pass up. Tycho and I cooked up what we think are a set of cool introductions to these new Subclasses and you can see them over on the Bungie site. I had a lot of fun drawing these and I’m super proud of them. I know I missed posting two sketchdumps in a row but that’s because all the stuff I was sketching was secret and I couldn't exactly show it off. So here’s a look at a bunch of my doodles from the entire project.
