The last time I posted about a Kickstarter expressly to mourn it - Republique, which I described explicitly as a "Kick-Stopper" - I was so glad to be wrong. I thought it would never come out, and that the young people with smart coats engaged dutifully in the act of its creation had done so for naught. Except now the second episode is out, and it's even better than the first one.
I've been watching the Amplitude Kickstarter with a similar unease. Except... I think Harmonix is actually gonna pull this off, now. It jumped hard over the last week, enough to make me put my coins in the bucket along with the others. I always wanted it to work, of course: Amplitude is incredibly special, a music game that predated the boom. Except you could use those tracks to make your own songs, a thoroughly 2014 kind of feature they had going eleven years ago. Well, I'm ready to go back there. And I think we're gonna.
