You can look up my statistics in Halo 2 and see that since the night Half-Life 2 was released on Steam, I haven't really looked back - and today I'll be made to suffer for it. I am scared right now and want only to be held.
JIVE
There will be a pretty good sized interview with us in an upcoming issue of JIVE magazine. They asked me to do the cover for the issue and I was super excited. The concept I had was Gabe and Tycho as though they were real people being photographed for the cover of a music magazine. Here’s what I came up with.
New Spy Manual Page
It's number nine, right down at the bottom.
Pour Les Femmes
I believe I spelled that correctly.
Web Comic News!
People often ask me why we don't talk more about the things that are going on in the web comics community. They want to know what I think about the Daily Grind or whatever. So I will now give you my own little web comics news update.
Katamari Damacy Guy
The Inevitable Outcome
As soon as we began to hear the rumors of a camera - and let's be clear, they're probably not rumors - we almost immediately began to tremble with fear, although this feature is likely to save me a trip downtown.
New Brothers In Arms/Splinter Cell Pages
Extraordinary savings in every department! If you act now, you'll get not only these nebulously sourced, potentially falsified Splinter Cell documents, but we'll also enter you in a drawing for these authentic Brothers In Arms tales of fireside cameraderie!
Potentially Offensive Insights
Robert attended the GDC this year, he was able to ask Reggie the questions which were posted yesterday - and though the show seems to be intensifying, at least from an outside perspective, it doesn't sound anything like the shows I've been to. He mentioned to us in passing that IGN has a booth, a place members of the press can swing by to get a statement on the things being shown there. Damn if that didn't sound like a hell of a job.
Interview: Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime
I was not aware that such a man as Reggie Fils-Amie existed before last year's E3. We attended the Nintendo briefing for Retailers by mistake, which for a person on the enthusiast side of things was extremely odd - there's probably an entire article just in that. But central to the presentation was this man, a person I had never seen before, broad of shoulder and intimidating, describing the Nintendo DS as a dangerous, unstoppable machine, like a self-ambulating bear trap that craves the human leg.
A Mystery I'd Rather Maintain
We prefer to think of each other as being outside gender altogether, and we go through terrible contortions to avoid even the possibility we may actually come into contact. To put it clearly, there is nothing in his pants I want to know about.
PAX
The basic outline of the three day event is up on the site, still a few slots being filled but that is the basic rundown.
Warlords, Motherfuckers!
Hell yes.
Star Wars
Tycho mentioned that I had the answer to the different clone voices in Republic Commando and that's true. I've seen a few people give the developers a hard time about this and it's not really fair. Please excuse me while I get really fucking geeky.
A Bold New Genre
You might remember that Electronic Arts decided to dip their toe into Xbox Live right about the time Microsoft divested itself of their Sports developers, events which I'm assured have nothing to do with one another but form irresistible symmetries in the mind. I had assumed that these teams were just taken out behind the office and shot, as is customary in the industry - their contributions buried forever - but recently it's become clear that isn't exactly true. Take-Two grabbed the best sports games ever made by those teams, Top Spin and Links, and I've heard rumblings that these games are far from gone. The rest of the spoils, the major sports franchises I mean, those all went over to Ubisoft from the sounds of it. When I heard that they were making a golf game, originally I thought it might have been the new Links possibly acquired in that earlier deal - but now we both know that's not the case. It does mean that next generation platforms will have fully three golf experiences to choose from, which is good news for people interested in a genuine simulation. Hopefully there is room somewhere in the market for a game where people play something that resembles the sport in question.
Unearthed KOTOR 2 Arcana
Just saw this over at EA - the good one, I mean - and it's completely fascinating to me.
